Worklenz v2.4.3 adds subtask reordering, a project links tab for external resources, drag-and-drop between task statuses, time entry reassignment, a redesigned project creation flow, template previews, and comment deletion in the task drawer. Alongside these, client portal labeling gets clearer and 13 fixes land across the schedule timeline, reports, and task list.

Features

Task List & Board

  • Reorder subtasks within a task
    Drag and drop subtasks into any order inside a parent task. The order persists after a page refresh.
    How to use:
    1. Open a task with subtasks
    2. Drag a subtask by its handle
    3. Drop it into the new position — the order saves automatically
  • Drag tasks between statuses
    Tasks can now move directly from one status column to another by dragging, instead of being limited to reordering within the same status. The status updates immediately and the change saves without a page refresh.
    How to use:
    1. Open a project's task list
    2. Drag a task from one status group (e.g. To Do)
    3. Drop it into another status group (e.g. Doing) — the task status updates instantly

Task Drawer

  • Delete comments
    Comments added to a task can now be removed directly from the task drawer. Previously, once posted, a comment stayed there for good.
    How to use:
    1. Open a task and go to its comments
    2. Hover over a comment you posted
    3. Click the delete action to remove it

Projects

  • Redesigned project creation flow
    Creating a project now asks for a name only — status, dates, manager, client, and notes move to a Settings drawer you open after the project exists. A single Create Project modal replaces the separate blank and template entry points.
    How to use:
    1. Click Create Project from any page with the toolbar
    2. Type a project name and optionally pick a template
    3. Click Create — you land directly on the project board, with a settings gear ready for further configuration
  • Preview project templates before importing
    Templates in the Project Template Library can now be previewed in a read-only modal showing their structure, tasks, and default settings, before committing to an import.
    How to use:
    1. Open the Project Template Library
    2. Click Preview on any template card
    3. Review the structure, then Import or close the preview
  • Links tab for external resources
    A new Links tab sits alongside the Files tab on each project, letting teams track external resources such as SharePoint, Google Drive, or Confluence URLs without uploading files. URLs added to task descriptions and comments after this release also surface here automatically, tagged with the task they came from.
    How to use:
    1. Open a project and go to the Files section
    2. Click the Links tab
    3. Click Add Link and enter a title and URL — it appears at the top of the table immediately

Time Tracking

  • Reassign a time entry to a different project or task
    A logged time entry can be moved to a different project or task directly from the edit view, instead of having to delete the entry and log it again from scratch.
    How to use:
    1. Open a logged time entry
    2. Change the project or task field
    3. Save — the entry moves without needing to be re-logged

✨ Improvements

Client Portal

  • Clarified field labels in the client details panel so "Client Name" and "Company Name" are no longer easy to confuse
  • The client name is now always shown as the primary identifier in the client table, regardless of whether a company name is set

Reports

  • Custom date range filters now validate that the end date isn't earlier than the start date, instead of silently swapping the selected dates

Projects

  • Project deletion no longer requires deleting all tasks first

🐞 Fixes

Schedule

  • Fixed the settings button inside the task timeline drawer not responding to clicks
  • Fixed Critical priority showing a raw system code instead of the readable label in the timeline drawer
  • Fixed member profile avatars not rendering in the task timeline drawer

Reports

  • Fixed member overview metric drawers opening empty with no data
  • Fixed the per-page dropdown in the Time Log report not responding to selection changes
  • Fixed long project category names wrapping into two rows in the Projects report table

Task Drawer

  • Fixed comment text intermittently turning entirely blue instead of only the @mentioned name

Task List

  • Fixed the task list failing to scroll to reveal the Add Task button under the last phase in long lists

Projects

  • Fixed long project category names overlapping the Last Update column in the project list
  • Fixed the notification banner showing irrelevant Tags text when creating a project

Client Portal

  • Fixed an error when deactivating multiple clients at once through bulk actions

Members & Permissions

  • Fixed a newly assigned team lead not appearing until the page was refreshed

UI & Display

  • Fixed the "Worklenz Updated" release popup reappearing repeatedly after being dismissed
